What is the greatest gift someone could give you?
The greatest gift someone could ever give me is their time.
Especially, Facetime – and no, I’m not referring to the Apple feature. I’m referring to actual in-person time. I would consider it the biggest gift and honor if a person dedicates their in-person time for me.
In my book, time is the most valuable resource. It is finite and limited. When someone decides to dedicate their undivided attention and time for me, they truly are doing a lot for me. I respect and value that, so much. Especially when this gesture is done in-person.
It’s probably the ageing process and the wisdom that sets in with age, I find that I’m losing allure to material things and find more joy in experiences and making memories. For a person like me, the perfect gift is a memory, which would last a lifetime, unlike a physical gift – which is ephemeral. This gift is worth its weight in gold if it is from a loved one.
So if you are planning to gift me something, give me the gift of time!
